On June 22 of each year the sun festival begins, this afternoon the dance of the community members begins, visiting from house to house to advance to the sacred place
to take the ritual bath at midnight. On June 23, indigenous women prepare typical foods to offer to the dancers in the Cotacachi plaza. On June 24, the big day or Jatun Puncha
arrives, where most of the community members participate, dancing to the sound of the
rondin and flute typical of the area called Gaita, who will come to take over the square and dance in each of its corners with their costumes of goats that consists of a zamarro
and a hat of considerable size.

DAY 1: June 22
3:00 p.m. Check in at the family accommodation
3:30 p.m. Participate in family activities, rest
7:00 p.m. Dinner with the indigenous family
9:00 p.m. Participation in the Inti Raymi dance with the family (optional)
12h00am We will be able to observe the shaman's ritual bath and you can attend with a
member of your host family (Optional)
1:00 p.m. Return to the family home.

DAY 2: June 23
08h30am Breakfast with the family
09h30am Our transportation will pick you up from the family to take you to the
ethnobotanical garden where the medicinal plants will be interpreted.
10h30am We will continue our route to Lake Cuicocha, considered a sacred and very
important place for ritual bathing.
12h00pm We will return to visit the Cotacachi city and have lunch
2:00 p.m. This afternoon we perform the purification ritual with a shaman.
4:00 p.m. Return to the accommodation and social activities where the family begins with
the preparation of the typical dish.
7:00 p.m. Dinner and accommodation with family

DAY 3: June 24
08h00am Breakfast with the family.
09h00am Food preparation for the Pambamesa
09h30am Participation in the Inti Raymi dance, time to take photos.
11h30pm Take over the plaza, they dance in the corners of the main park of Cotacachi
(optional participation)
1:00 p.m. Pambamesa and participation in lunch.
2:00 p.m. Goodbye and transportation
